A Sales Manager helps to execute the theatrical release plan for each Sony Pictures film. They negotiate terms with our partners in exhibition and communicate with them throughout a picture’s theatrical engagement.
The Manager will work with NY Sales team by interfacing with national, regional, and independent exhibitors. The Manager will negotiate terms and playtime with exhibitors, as well as work with internal departments such as Accounting, Exhibitor Relations, and Publicity to further the success of our department and our titles. Projects and other responsibilities will be assigned and require a collaborative, innovative, action-oriented candidate.
Key Responsibilities
· Interfacing with national, regional, and local accounts to secure film playtime, as well as playoff.
· Responsible for achieving and surpassing sales goals to maximize theatrical revenue for multiple sales branches across the Eastern and Midwest section of the United States.
· Negotiate film rental with exhibitors.
· Execute release plans and strategies for all current and future releases.
· Continuously build and strengthen relationships with our exhibitors, essential for healthy business and revenue.
· Assist Finance dept with rebilling of bookings and other related tasks.
· Work with Exhibitor Relations and Publicity on current and future releases.
· Positive, detailed oriented team leader who will take challenges head on and look to innovate processes.
· Adept at managing multiple projects.
· Gather competitive trade screening reactions/grosses and share with the group.
Qualifications and/or Experience required
· At least five years of sales experience in theatrical distribution.
· Extremely detailed oriented and organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.
· Working knowledge of Box Office Essential’s comScore.
· Strong MS Office suite skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
· Bachelor’s degree preferred.
· Excellent communication skills, able to interact with all levels of internal management, as well as a plethora of exhibitors from all over the country.
· Passion and familiarity with the entertainment business.
· Proven problem-solving skills, follow-through, attention to detail and priority setting.
The anticipated base salary for this position is $91,000 to $118,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.Sony Pictures Entertainment is an equal opportunity employer.
