This Spring 2026 Trainee position is from the January 12, 19 or 26, 2026 to June 26th, 2026 (start and end dates are flexible based on your schedule) and all candidates must be able to work 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday in the specified location. This type of opportunity will jump-start your career and prepare you for a career in the desired field. This is not a remote role. A hybrid work option may or may not be available.
The Production & Studio Technology Services (PSTS) Group provides a robust set of technology services and solutions in support of SPE’s physical production, production finance and studio operations businesses. At the core, our technologies provide the underlying tools to properly plan and execute the creation of content, from production office, content workflow management, production finance reporting, location accounting and a broad set of studio centric tool sets that service the studio lot based on Culver City, LA. The team supports over 100 productions globally across SPE’s Motion Picture and Television business, including multiple wholly owned, affiliate and co-production arrangements.
Responsibilities:
- Assist IT team members with coding, configuration, and testing of applications and tools
- Support in gathering requirements, documenting user needs
- Work on small-scale proof of concept projects to evaluate new tools or technologies
- Learn and experiment with cloud platforms, automation tools, and AI-based technologies under supervision
- Help in troubleshooting software issues, performing root cause analysis, and testing fixes
- Contribute to database updates, data quality checks, and reporting dashboards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or related technical field preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to learn new tools and processes quickly
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with a proactive attitude toward learning and development
- Basic understanding of industry-specific tools or concepts, such as software development lifecycle, financial reporting, or data visualization
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Ability to work in a structured and deadline-driven environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic programming knowledge (Python, Java, or JavaScript)
- Familiarity with web technologies (HTML5, CSS3)
- Understanding of databases and SQL queries
- Exposure to reporting/visualization tools (Excel, PowerBI, or Tableau)
- Awareness of cloud concepts (AWS/Azure/GCP)
