The Senior Financial Analyst role plays a critical role in supporting theatrical finance operations, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial data related to film distribution and collections. This role will partner closely with internal teams to drive strong financial controls, support intellectual property protection, and enhance cross-functional collaboration. In addition, they will work closely with a BPO team in their day-to-day activities.
Responsibilities
Collections Oversight & Operations
- Perform and analyze theatrical collections, ensuring accurate reporting, timely follow-up, and resolution of variances.
- Perform detailed reconciliations of theatrical revenue, cash receipts, and related accounts to maintain financial accuracy and compliance.
- Analyze outstanding settlements, partnering with internal and external stakeholders to resolve open items in a timely manner.
- Prepare clear financial analysis, reports, and summaries to support management decision making.
- Assist BPO team as needed supporting cash, billing, and collections activities.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including distribution, accounting, operations, and IT, to improve processes and strengthen controls.
ESOAR & Process Improvement
- Participate in continuous improvement to the collections workflow, working with system teams to automate tracking and correspondence
- Identify opportunities to eliminate redundancies and reduce manual touchpoints through system automation.
Team/Office Support
- Process vendor payments for department including vendor setup in system and issuing payment requests.
- Assist with ad hoc tasks and projects.
Qualifications
- BA / BS preferred. Accounting / Finance a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in media, entertainment
- 3-5 years of experience with financial analysis, reconciliations, and revenue-related processes, preferably within entertainment, media, of theatrical distribution environments
- Solid understanding of order-to-cash workflows and settlement processes.
- Strong Excel skills (e.g., formulas, lookups, pivot tables).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Collaborative mindset with eagerness to learn and grow in a team-oriented setting.
