This Spring 2026 Trainee position is from the January 12, 19 or 26, 2026 to June 26th, 2026 (start and end dates are flexible based on your schedule) and all candidates must be able to work 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday in the specified location. This type of opportunity will jump-start your career and prepare you for a career in the desired field. This is not a remote role. A hybrid work option may or may not be available.
As part of the Security, Safety, & Sustainability (S3) team, the Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) is responsible for providing essential service support for all safety, security, and crises impacting Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) facilities, productions, special events, travelers, and personnel on a global scale. Working in a fast-paced and innovative fusion center, Operators must possess exceptional analytical and incident management skills. GSOC Operators play an integral role in operational security, facility safety, crisis management, content protection, traveler safety, and overall duty of care, using various security systems and monitoring software to detect and triage critical incidents.
Responsibilities:
- Dispatching and coordinating responses to various incidents—such as non-emergency service calls medical emergencies, fires, and security threats—across company sites and events using specialized communication tools
- Supporting intelligence gathering and threat analysis by reviewing and escalating data related to global events, situational awareness, and travel safety
- Monitoring technical security systems, social media threats, and open-source intelligence to identify potential risks to company personnel and operations
- Producing clear communications during crises, supporting special event security, and maintaining databases related to global personnel, travel, and risk
- Assisting with location risk assessments, crisis response coordination, and real-time alerting for high-risk situations
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (in International Affairs, Business, Emergency Management, Political Science, Criminal Justice, or related field is preferred but not required)
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the company in a high pressure and fast-paced environment
- Ability to accurately type a minimum of 60 words per minute while entering data or information relayed via radio, phone, or alarm monitoring system into a CAD system
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as operational needs dictate
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Japanese speaker is preferred but not required
- Experience with access control and video management software
